Meet Katie

Katie is one of Haley's friends from Play Gym. I loved that I got to spend some time with Katie and her Nana and Papa. She really lights up around them!

She loves Nana kisses!

And she loves trying to turn flips with Papa...well, at least pretending for now. :)

Bubbles, bubbles, everywhere!

Katie's favorite book to read with her Nana and Papa is a Spot lift-the-flap book!

And to finish it off, a landmark shot with the Walnut Street Bridge.

I had so much fun with you guys! I can't wait to do it again!

A special visit and Daddy time...

The Friday before last we had a special visitor come to our house...Mema Cooper! She is my great grandma so she is Haley's great-great grandma - yep, five generations! She came down with my grandparents and aunt on the way to Haley's cousin's first birthday party to give Haley something very special.

Mema has had this tradition where she made everyone in our family a hand pieced quilt. My sister Jessica and I got ours on our 16th birthday. However a few years ago Mema decided that she was tired of making pieced quilts and has since been making lap quilts which are very nice in cooler weather and just the right size to snuggle up with on the couch. My sister reminded Mema one day that Haley needed her quilt...so on that Friday she stopped by and gave it to Haley. Her cousin Cameron recieved the exact same kind for her birthday as well.

Haley loves peek-a-boo...Where's Haley?

There she is!

Haley and Daddy time...smiling for the camera!

Her Daddy does this fun thing where he sniffs her like a dog...and she LOVES it! She'll put her head to his over and over again - her signal to keep going!

Haley also likes brushing her teeth...but I think it may help that she gets that yummy fruity toddler toothpaste on her toothbrush. :) She loves brushing her teeth with her Daddy...

And helping him brush his too!

She's quite talented!

August and Jack

One hot yet lovely day Haley and I went to the park with August, Jack, and their mom April. They had tons of fun swinging and sliding. Here are a few shots of August and Jack from our outing! (Don't worry, Haley gets her very own post soon because she got a special visit last Friday!)

August loves to swing!

And Jack loves being a boy! (not kidding...that little boy knows way more about Star Wars than I ever will...and he's just now starting Kindergarten..oops...I mean pre-k!)

August running...

And a very special place for a very special braclet worn in honor of a very special grandma...

I had fun with processing these last two. I love their expressions as well! What do you think?

We will definately have to go to the park together more often...when the weather gets a little cooler! We can't wait!

Signing Time!

Since in my last post I posted a photo of Haley and her Daddy signing 'eat,' I thought I would show you how she has learned her signs. One of her friends comes to our house to play, and sometimes he brings his Signing Time videos. Haley LOVES them! We have one video of Baby Einstein - First Signs and even though she liked watching it (for about 5 minutes!) she never really repeated the signs. So when her friend brougt over Signing Time we watched it together...and she loved it! Best of all she picked up more signs! I had been teaching her a few signs myself, and we also go to the Creative Discovery Museum for Play Gym (There will have to be a seperate post on another day for that!) where we use signs as well, so I suppose all of the repitition and inclusiveness helped...but since watching this video a couple times a week for the past few months, she has really taken off! Sometimes she even requests to watch one! How? Well, she does the "roll 'em up!" motion from "patty cake" and then points to the TV. :) So if you're interested in teaching your child how to communicate with American Sign Language before they can talk, check Signing Time out!
